<div class="" data-article-body="true"><p class="mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words">A protester has climbed on to the balcony of the Iranian embassy in west London as hundreds gathered outside the building, waving flags and shouting anti-government slogans.</p><p class="mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words">The Metropolitan Police said two arrests had been made at the protest and that officers were also seeking another individual for trespass.</p><p class="mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words">Anti-government protests erupted in Iran on 28 December, with two human rights groups reporting that at least 50 protesters have been killed.</p><p class="mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words">Protesters demonstrating against the Iranian regime have been gathering outside embassies across the world.</p><p class="mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words">Earlier on Saturday, the Met said additional officers had been deployed to the protest "to prevent any disorder".</p><p class="mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words">Confirming the arrest of two individuals on Saturday evening - one for aggravated trespass and assault on an emergency worker and one for aggravated trespass - police said the protest was continuing but being "safely policed".</p><p class="mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words">"We saw no serious disorder and officers will remain in the area to ensure the continued security of the Embassy," a statement said.</p><p class="mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words">Footage on Saturday showed a man standing on the London embassy's balcony and tearing down the Iranian flag.
